A sustainable production

A sustainable production

From project to reality for life

A corporate culture that follows concrete strategies aimed at making production more and more sustainable, respectful of environmental resources and people, in order to offer a certified product that has a minimal impact on the natural ecosystem.

Stosa's commitment also aims to respect people and the environment.

Ethics, honesty and sustainability have always been at the heart of every phase of work and have become an integral part of the company culture.

In its continuous pursuit of the future, Stosa has implemented a number of important strategies linked to the environmental sustainability of every activity and process, from increasing investments in energy efficiency to reducing waste, from choosing environmentally friendly materials to using wood responsibly managed forests that allow traceability while adhering to strict standards.

FSC® certification

FSC® certification

For over 10 years, Stosa Cucine has implemented a rigorous quality control protocol, measures aimed at organizing production and a careful selection of the supplier base according to precise criteria. The company wanted to place great emphasis on how the production processes could impact the environment.

This led to the decision to create and be part of a supply chain that showed the same level of attention the company felt was essential to its work ethic.

In 2012, Stosa Cucine accepted Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certification and today has achieved the goal of offering its customers products made with certified material: from Art, the first prototype and marketed line, to Karma and Metropolis.

However, Stosa Cucine's commitment is to redesign supplies and production lines in order to be able to convert all models in the range as quickly as possible into kitchen systems made from certified wood, sourced from a supply chain that supports management - responsible forestry, without increasing prices for the end user.

Stosa Cucine's commitment has been recognized by the FSC, which awarded the company the award in the Interior Furniture_Section Kitchens 2020 category at the FSC® Italia Awards_Furniture 2020 for the production of the first kitchen with FSC-certified furniture in a series.

In 2021, at the first European edition of the FSC® Funiture Awards, the company was awarded the Special Prize for Communication for having supported the values of FSC® through digital, social and television communication strategies that actively promoted the contents of such an important certification.

A concrete commitment by Stosa Cucine, which envisages a restructuring of the design and production facilities and major investments that the company will undertake without increasing the price of its products.

The other Green-

STOSA's other Green certifications

CARB P2

All Stosa kitchen furniture uses CARB P2 certified materials. The bodies are made of recyclable panels with a very low formaldehyde content. Formaldehyde is used in the manufacture of many adhesives and resins and can emit gaseous molecules into the environment that can be harmful to humans in high concentrations. CARB certification, acronym for California Air Resource Board, is based on the Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) regulation, the purpose of which is to reduce and control formaldehyde emissions from engineered wood products used in California. This certification has also been adopted as a reference standard by important multinationals in the wooden furniture sector and is further confirmation of the company's attention to environmental protection and the fact that design and innovation cannot be separated from a comprehensive selection of raw materials that respect the ethics of recycling and accept respect for the environment.

E1

Wood panels are classified based on their formaldehyde emissions according to the criteria set out in the technical standards of the sector. The panels used by Stosa Cucine are classified as E1 (low emissions) and do not exceed the limits recommended by the World Health Organization for homes and living environments in terms of formaldehyde emissions to air. E1 type panels used according to UNI EN 717-1 standard. The material corresponds to the American market (USA): EPA P2-CARB P2 acc. to CCR Title 17 - § 93120.2 (a) - US EPA TSCA Title VI - 40 § 770

In 2016, Stosa Cucine set an example to reduce the use of plastic in furniture packaging.

Packing involves the use of cardboard boxes sealed with paper tape and cardboard corner protectors.

A very important investment was made to convert the systems and ensure a switch to a new concept of protective housing for furniture. The machines consist of automatic belts used to close the flaps and an automatic continuous forming line has been implemented to minimize waste.

To date, the packaging consists of 98% cardboard.

With this action, Stosa Cucine has reduced plastic consumption by 52,800 kg / year in recent years.

The photovoltaic system

The photovoltaic system

Sustainability also means saving energy. With this goal, Stosa Cucine has created a 1.5 MW photovoltaic system that enables production to be sustainable and with very low CO2 emissions, making it a pioneer of the so-called “energy transition”.

The company has planned major investments in state-of-the-art machinery and acquired land for factory expansion according to an industrial development plan by 2025. The new plots will house 27,000 square meters of production lines dedicated to the highest range of Stosa products and will allow for the reclamation of a large area around the current plants.

A project called "Stosa Green Park" which, hand in hand with the measures aimed at sustainability in relation to the product and the internal management, envisages the creation of a production center with a new road network, harmoniously integrated with the environment, respecting the landscape and green spaces .

A complete redevelopment of the area, designed to contribute to respect for the environment and citizenship, conveying the link between the values and objectives pursued and those actually implemented.
